Jamaica Inn plot

After her mother's death, Mary Yellan goes to live with her aunt in Cornwall. Her aunt is now married to Joss, the innkeeper of the Jamaica Inn. This obscure inn is the setting for things that can't stand the daylight. She meets a preacher who offers her his friendship and whom she thinks will help her. In addition, she is torn between her feelings for Jem, Joss' brother, and her suspicion of this freebooter.
