Maria's second husband Manfred has revived her garage business, but he sees her more as his mistress than his wife. While Maria maintains friendships with her ex Ortein, Manfred falls in love with Felicitas, who becomes his mistress. Wanting to free himself from her domination, he slowly but surely begins to steal money from the company and steal his wife's jewelry from the safe, which he then sells to shady people. That's how he gets into the hands of blackmailers.
