Il Consigliori plot
Don Maggadino (Balsam) gives his friend and counselor Thomas (Milian) the green light to start a life outside the family after a prison term. Garafalo (Rabal) sees this as a weakening of the family and starts a war against the Don, who threatens to lose the latter. Out of friendship and loyalty, Thomas is again forced off the right path.
