Chick Harris robs an old man of his savings. When he sees how much grief he has caused the man, he returns the money. Harris heads for the small town of St. Claire with a plan to walk the straight path from now on. He takes a room in Colonel Williams' house and falls in love with his cousin Alvah. Harris is offered a job, but then his old fellow criminal Sky Blue suddenly appears in town.
