Hide-Out plot
"Delightfully Produced By The Makers Of The Thin Man"
While on the run from the police, playboy petty criminal Jonathan "Lucky" Wilson sustains a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Lucky manages to escape with the car as far as possible before passing out. Lucky is found by farmer Henry Miller. Miller believes Lucky is an innocent man who was randomly shot by gangsters. Lucky contacts his partner Tony Berrelli to send their corrupt doctor, who gets paid by the mobsters to take care of him. Tony finds the situation perfect: he sees the Miller Ranch as an ideal hideout. Meanwhile, Lucky falls in love with Miller's daughter Pauline and tries to hide his criminal past from her.
