Goben no Tsubaki plot
In the year Tenpo 5, at midnight of the New Year's Eve, Musashiya Kihei's dormitory burns down after a fire is set and three bodies are found. Witnesses report that these are the bodies of Master Kihei, his wife Osono and his daughter Oshino. The leukaemic Kihei had a few days to live, but his daughter nursed him devotedly, while his wife Osono led a riotous life. In the fall of that year, infamous men are found dead one by one, one after the other. Each of them was killed with a hairpin and a Camellia flower was left with the corpses. The culprit would be a mysterious stunning lady. Yoriki and Aoki, Hachobori detectives, are assigned to the case and are on the trail of an unexpected suspect.
