Fields of Gold plot

Alcohol-addicted journalist Roy Lodge and young, ambitious photographer Lucia Merrit investigate mysterious deaths at a rural hospital. There they meet the young farmer Mark Hurst. He has donated his fields to a company that researches genetically modified grain. The new technology would be the solution to hunger and poverty in the developing world. However, there is more to the game than ideals. Lodge and Lucia uncover mysterious agreements between government, the business world and biotechnology and use their research to expose ethical issues.
