Divided into Zero plot

"I've spent a lifetime working up the strength to speak with people who no longer exist."

A man looks back on three different phases of life: his youth and his life as an adult and an elderly person. Over the years, he loses sight of reality more and more. Isolation, pedophilia, self-mutilation and murder are the result.

The little brother of Subconscious Cruelty. Also largely the same people behind the scenes with Hussain as cinematographer, Davis (producer of Subconscious) for direction and Kristian for sound design. The result is very similar: sick ideas, voice-overs, a somewhat abstract narrative structure and a very present soundtrack. You can only expect a little less in terms of gore, but that is not really a loss.

Visually there are a few impressive scenes (playground, razors) but as soon as we deviate from the more explicit color work it sometimes becomes less so. However, nothing to complain about the soundtrack at all. Quite varied for a film like this: noise, ambient and some more classical influences come together to form a strong whole.

Fans of Subconscious Cruelty or surreal horror in general should give this a try. 4*.
