Die Letzten Werden die Ersten Sein plot

Lawyer Ludwig (OE Hasse) tries to cover up a murder by making the innocent beggar Bettler (Bruno Hübner) pay for it. The real culprit is his deranged brother Lorenz (Maximilian Schell), who murdered the pimp of his beloved Wanda (Ulla Jacobsson) in blind rage. However, the beloved couple gets a pang of conscience and makes a far-reaching decision.
