Der Verräter plot

In a German town, an asylum seeker from Bosnia is beaten to death; a crime for which three young people have to go to court. However, they go free when eighteen-year-old Paul (Frank Giering) provides them with an alibi. He commits perjury. Paul does this because he would like to belong to the circle of friends of the perpetrators. His new friends drag him into their violent and criminal lifestyle. His mother's boyfriend, police officer Hans (Peter Lohmeyer), tries to set the boy on the right path.
