At Joe Carney's Century Club, the blue diamond was stolen. It appeared that Joe wanted to hand this diamond over to Nick Pollo to pay off his debt, but he wanted this theft to collect the insurance money. Nick had promised singer Sherry Marvin the diamond. Sherry now wears an imitation during her performances. Detective Chick Carter must investigate the theft. There are many suspects, including Joe's bodyguard Mack, Pollo's accomplice Lasky, and Ellen Dale, the Century Club's new cigarette girl. Chick can count on the support of journalist Rusty Farrell and photographer Spud Warner in his quest.
