Chain Gang plot
"It was legal murder until a reporter and his girl dared to get the inside story!"
Driven journalist Cliff Roberts sets out to investigate corruption in the local prison. Roberts goes to work incognito as a warden in this prison. He uses a miniature camera in the shape of a lighter and takes pictures of the abuses in the prison. Captain Duncan, the sadistic leader of the jailers, finds out about Roberts' activities and has him beat up by his fellow jailers. Roberts eventually escapes and plans to write a detailed report on the miserable conditions in the prison. Duncan, however, has the police chase Roberts with bloodhounds.
