Marianne Hovden is a young reporter whose father is dying in the hospital. Her father asks her to burn a pile of documents for him. However, she is not allowed to watch this. When her friend Peter does read the documents, they are shocked that it links Marianne's father to the murder of a young woman. Marianne wants to prove his innocence and investigates.
