"HE is gangland's most hunted target!"
Devoted Chicago housewife Patricia Mortimer "Pat" Van Dyne is shocked to learn that her wealthy husband Tony is actually a successful jewel thief. She found this out when Tony brutally robbed some of their friends while on vacation. Pat then wants to divorce Tony, but he refuses and sends her back to Chicago, silencing her about the robbery. Detective Michael Aloysius 'Mike' O'Hara has now started an investigation without Tony having any idea. Back in Chicago, Tony still wants to divorce Pat, partly because she is accused of the theft. Pat's friends can prove her innocence and she and O'Hara hunt down her ex-husband.
