Zum Teufel mit Harbolla plot

1956. Good-natured officer-in-training Gottfried Engelhart sees the world through rose-colored glasses. Everything in the fledgling German Democratic Republic is thriving: Engelhardt's career, the socialist state, the black market, and perhaps even a chance at love. When Engelhardt is sent to track down Harry Harbola, his life is turned upside down. Harbola is arrested for unauthorized leave and dancing to rock and roll music in a bar. However, he has no interest in returning to his barracks and involves Engelhardt in a series of bizarre adventures.
