You Can't Beat Love plot
Rich but eccentric lawyer Jimmy Hughes, who never turns down a challenge, takes his loyal butler Jasper with him and gets a job digging trenches to fulfill a bet he made with two reporters. In his new job, he meets Trudy Olson, the daughter of the city's mayor, who is running for re-election. A misunderstanding with Trudy leads to Jimmy announcing his intention to run against the mayor. This brings him into contact with corrupt cops, gamblers, corrupt politicians and greedy businessmen.
