Yi Ma De Hou Xian Dai Sheng Huo plot
Old-fashioned Ye Rutang, a single woman in her 60s, struggles to keep her head above water in Shanghai, a city that seems to be increasingly overrun by swindlers. The first to try to scam her is her 12-year-old cousin Kuan-kuan, who comes to live with her after breaking a leg in an accident. When he can no longer bear her frugality, he runs away and pretends to have been kidnapped to get her money. Then the amateur opera singer Ye appears, who pretends to be in love with her and only wants one thing: her money.
