Where the Money Is plot

"They make their money the old-fashioned way. They steal it."

Henry is a professional criminal who pretends to be unwell to escape prison. He ends up in a quiet care home, where Carol Ann McKay begins to see him through. This seems like a perfect opportunity to spice up her quiet life, and she persuades Henry to help her and her husband in an armed robbery.

Starts nice and then it fades away.

Paul is good in his role.

I saw this film three times in 3 weeks in 2000:

1st time Return flight to Canada;

2nd time Return flight from Canada to America;

3rd time Return flight from Canada to the Netherlands.

Story is not special but thanks to Paul Newman (played very well) this film remains worth watching. The beginning of the film is especially nice.

Quite fun.

In any case, the idea on which the story is based is original, and Paul Newman plays it beautifully - with some help from the most beautiful femme fatale in the film world - I am talking about Linda Fiorentino. It's a shame that there isn't much else going on, with just a little more talent in directing and cinematography this could have been a real gem.

3*
