A director like Anthony C. Ferrante is undoubtedly in the right place within these kinds of cheesy settings with a total nonsense concept. Sharks appearing out of nowhere in the chlorinated water of a water park—it takes quite an inventive thing, of course. Fortunately, the high level of comedy and the reasonably absurd finale provide the necessary entertainment, but Ferrante and co. take far too long to explain and investigate everything. Aside from a few sparse, relatively bloodless shark attacks, the first hour seems to drag on before a bit of action finally kicks in during the finale. It also takes too long for such a thin premise, but it is ultimately entertaining, and that is exactly what something like Water Park Shark aims for.
