Due to the economic downturn, Benedict Hoffmann (Herbert Bötticher), Hartmut Wredel (Walter Kohut), Peter Pagodi (Harald Leipnitz) and Gustav Blümel (Günther Neutze), gentlemen who had done well until now, are in the red. Because of their lifestyles, chic women, etc., no one believes that they have the wind against them. They find each other and decide to solve their problems ingeniously and get the money where they used to get it: the bank.
