Vaudeville plot

Gaston is married to Madeleine and envies his friend Victor, who is single and successful with many women. Both are servants in a large shop in a provincial town. One day, Gaston, who dreams of freedom, is faced with a surprise: his wife says she is leaving him. And Victor makes him an offer too: Gaston can settle in his apartment (hoping to get in touch with many ladies) while Victor moves into Gaston's house.
