Burnt-out master chef Gabriel Carvin [Gérard Depardieu] decides to leave his family restaurant behind for a trip to Japan, hoping to draw inspiration from Tetsuichi Morita [Kyôzô Nagatsuka], who defeated him in a major culinary competition 40 years ago. Gabriel's wife [Sandrine Bonnaire] and son [Rod Paradot] are now on their own, just as a leading culinary influencer [Assa Sylla] has announced that he will be reviewing the restaurant. The title refers to the good things in life. Trite culinary drama is slow with a bored-looking Depardieu and corny tile wisdom.
