Franco Campanella is a man who used to work at the post office. He has been married for a long time to Josephine, who is of German descent. He is father to Luisa, a teacher and Giovanni, a waiter. Franco is also a gambling addict who wants nothing more than to pay for a beautiful wedding for his daughter. He spends every penny he has on gambling, but he loses time and again. He borrows money from family, friends and scammers. He just can't seem to win, and it won't be long before he's playing with his own life.
