When Jean Lerat and Joseph Vidauban have to go into service, they are determined to keep the time as bearable as possible by taking nothing seriously and approaching all their tasks with a lot of humor. The corporal is obviously not happy with this and does everything to keep the soldiers under control. Film adaptation of a play by André Mouézy-Éon and André Sylvane.
