Three sailors, Jones, Twitch and Parky, leave for New York for their furlough with their pockets full of money. They try to convince fortune hunter Joe Woods to invest their money in a musical. It soon becomes apparent that the musical, which the three sailors had come up with, is a misfire. But then the lead actress Penny helps this failure to work into a roaring success.
