William Hyatt runs an exclusive shoe store. his happy marriage to Grace is nearly shattered by his well-meaning but hopelessly clumsy boyfriend, Al Hennessy. Dagmar, a Parisian shoe designer has come to town to meet Hyatt and Hennessy. However, Hennessy describes the situation to Grace in the worst possible way and convinces her that her husband is having an affair.
