During World War II, Fred Atwell, pilot with the famous 'Flying Tigers', is tired of being hailed as a hero. Fred secretly leaves his squadron and he poses as a civilian. Fred falls in love with photographer Joan Manion. When Joan learns of Fred's true identity from her employer Phil Harriman, she thinks he's trying to get out of his draft.
