Burglar Grant Henry, a modestly successful thriller writer, is caught red-handed during his latest burglary by the lady of the house, Emily Barrow - but with his looks, charm and good manners he manages to seduce her. After a hot night, she not only lets him get away with the entire loot, but also gives the police a completely inaccurate description of the burglar's appearance. And that drives Inspector Smith and insurance agent Judy crazy, because with all the recent burglaries following the same specific modus operandi, the descriptions of the burglar are universally derogatory.
