The Mate of the Sally Ann plot

Old Captain Ward lives on a ship with his granddaughter Sally. He is overprotective and prevents Sally from seeing other people. One day, Sally finds a limping dog, which she smuggles aboard. When the dog escapes, Sally chases him to Judge Gordon's beautiful home. There she meets his friend Hugh Schuyler.
