The James Gang plot

Bernadette James takes care of her four children. After her husband has left for London for good to start a career as a karaoke singer, their house is set on fire one night by a vengeful creditor. With the help of her son, Spendlove Jr, she just manages to rescue sisters Geraldine, Jessica and baby Angus from the blaze. Having the only clothes they wear, they go in search of her husband to remind him of his fatherly duties. But he doesn't want to know anything more about her. When he tries to put her back on the train to Scotland, she suddenly robs a jeweler out of desperation and her husband, Spendlove Sr, unknowingly arrives with the getaway car waiting. The media calls the derailed family "The James Gang" and considers Bernadette to be a mother who abuses her children for criminal activities. Soon they are chased by a large police force.
