A family consists of Pat the cop, Mike the firefighter, Danny the boxing promoter, and Mother. Pat wants Danny to get a 'real' job because most of his fighters end up in Palookaville and because Pat wants to marry Lucille, which means he will leave the family and Danny will have to provide the income for his mother. But Danny is confident that a boxer named Carbarn will make him a fortune and refuses to give up his job. But then it turns out that Lucille doesn't love Pat at all, but Danny.
