Smooth-talking Jimmy Bates becomes a publicity agent for Colonel Munday's ailing circus. His latest plan to attract customers is a promise to reveal the identity of the father of his hot-tempered girlfriend, the belly dancer Teresita, during the evening performance. But when the local sheriff finds out it's all a hoax, Bates, his friend Achilles and Teresita flee to New York.
