"Good Time Charlie Will Be Here to Set the Town Laughing!"
Wealthy bachelor Charlie Floyd is known for being a womanizer. Charlie finds himself drawn to the wealthy Lucy Ledyard who makes his line of girlfriends pale. Charlie meets Lucy and her overprotective mother Blanche at the Rendel department store where Lucy is picking out her trousseau. At the same time, Charlie is actually supposed to have an appointment with the Russian saleswoman Sonja Maloney with whom he has had an affair. On the advice of Huntley Palmer, who wants to marry Lucy for her money, Sonja lures Charlie to her flat. She hopes to blackmail him with compromising love letters.
