Captain Ebbs (John Gregson) is promoted from the steamers he normally sails to the company's flagship. He is promoted by the board to captain on the largest passenger ship of the company. However, Ebbs is not only unfit for his job as a captain, but is also completely unprepared for the new social responsibilities that await him as a captain of a cruise ship. In no time, poor Ebbs is the target of many single ladies on board.
