This film is hillarious, I'm already a Schneider fan anyway, but in this film he performs well again.

I watched it again yesterday with my friends and I think they liked it as much as I did. With such kind of films it is just mind to zero and watch. I admit the whole story and most of the jokes are lame, but Schneider has a certain charm that he also gets lame jokes well into the picture.

The film is also original again, but that is usually with Schneider. Actually, he should make a drama because he always comes across as very convincing.

So don't worry about the average and just go watch it.

Rob Schneider is a mediocre actor, but has films that are quite funny, although it must be said that he is often helped by other actors.

The Animal is a film that unfortunately does not belong to his nicer films. The story is not bad and so is the first part of the film. A nice introduction and some reasonable jokes make the first half hour doable.

From that moment on, the film slowly sinks into a big lame mess of often unsuccessful jokes. Schneider tries to be too forced to be funny and that's why he often isn't here. Haskell does it well by the way and because of her and the good start, the film still gets some points.

blergh.

Schneider and Sandler wrong. Schneider is an ideal dumb-type supporting actor, while Sandler is the regular of the bunch. Here they turn the tables and that is seriously bad.

I think I chuckled once or twice, the rest of the jokes I really disliked. Schneider just isn't good enough to carry a movie. Story is potentially so stupid that it could be funny, but then Greenfield doesn't know what to do with that.

And so those 84 minutes are still way too long, it is often painfully unfunny and in addition to a good protagonist, the film also lacks funny sidekicks to boost the level a bit.

0.5*
