Swing Hostess plot
At the United Jukebox & Recording Co. in New York, bandleader Benny Jackson has an audition for a theater show. After a terrible singing presentation by sultry southern singer Phoebe Forbes, Leslie Fralick, the head of the jukebox company, has Judy Alvin sing. Judy sings beautifully, but due to a mistake by the studio, the theater producers hear nothing of it. While waiting for her big break, Judy is offered a job as a jukebox operator. She befriends Joe Sweeney, an employee of the jukebox company. He takes her to the studio for a singing voice test.
