Spooky Buddies plot
The talking puppies are back and find themselves in a mysterious mansion where something spooky is going on. Together with several new friends, including a nice ghost, they must do everything they can to stop "Warwick the Warlock" and save the earth from his evil schemes.

Even for toddlers it is not fun, because my youngest daughter of 4 also dropped out after an hour. I always watch everything myself, but I have to admit that the last three quarters were a real ordeal. Pitifully bad level. The other Buddy films are also far from good, but the second half of this one really beat everything.
And that while the first ten minutes were still quite nice. That takes place in the past and looked quite nice and atmospheric. After that, however, the level drops rapidly. Humor was also hard to find and the irritations quickly came around the corner.
Together with Space Buddies the worst in the series.

For the less critical viewer and especially the young target group, a film like Spooky Buddies will be easy to digest and the lack of substantive ambition works to the advantage here for a change. Director Robert Vince uses a direct story and especially the Halloween background to make his film more beautiful and although a lot of the approaches could have used a bit more effort, it remains entertaining. The effects are ugly and a number of characters needlessly childish, but the puppies are cute and the young children do fine. Not a great project, but the target group will be able to enjoy it.
