South American George plot

When opera singer Gilli Vannetti suddenly takes off, his doppelganger George Butters has to replace him so that the opera company can fulfill its contractual obligations. However, he cannot sing at all and the real opera star's impresario sends the assassins Swifty and Slappy after him. He also falls hopelessly in love with Vannetti's assistant Miss Carole.
