The mayor of Mayrhofen is displeased. Many years ago, during a card game, he lost a piece of land to old Gruber. He would like to have a sanatorium built on that plot. But now the hotel "Alpenblick" stands in the way and the current owner of the hotel, Thesi Gruber, has no intention of leaving. Together with her friend Petra, she has complete control over the situation, much to the chagrin of Mayor Kramerwirt.
