Snafu plot
"S.N.A.F.U. Means Situation Normal All Fowled Up!"
A 14-year-old boy lies about his age and ends up in the United States Navy without permission or knowledge of his family. He is sent into battle in the Pacific. He comes out of battle honorably and is decorated. Through the news, his family learns of his practices and they raise it with his superiors. A difficult period of adjustment follows for the boy and his family...
