She Gets It from Me plot

Nicky does not want to get married without first meeting her biological mother and therefore sets out to find Charlotte, a pill-popping former punk rocker. When mother and daughter finally meet, their reunion leads to a chaotic search involving DNA analysis, stolen cars, and an arrest at a gas station, among other things. While Nicky and Charlotte try to find a place in each other's lives, their partners and families also have to deal with the consequences of their reunion.
