Scarecrow in a Garden of Cucumbers plot

Eve Harrington is ambitious and wants to be an actress. She trades her life in the small country town of Topeka, Kansas for the glitz and glamor of Manhattan. She dresses shabbily and her naivety and clumsiness hinder her development, but her old friend Margo Channing is willing to take her in tow and introduce her to the right friends. At a party, Eve falls under the spell of slick film producer Rhett Butler, who wants to give her a chance, but instead tries to seduce her.
