Salsa plot

Vatroslav is having a hard time. He is about to be evicted and also loses his job. Fortunately, his friend arranges a place for him on a tomato picking farm with his grandmother where he can work for the summer. When he arrives on a remote island, Vatroslav encounters many quirky characters. Why do they all behave so strangely?
