Sakalakala Vallavan plot
Velu runs his family's farm. The village's landowners, Ramaiah Pillai and his wife Parvathi, issue high-interest mortgages and seize land and property when families cannot afford it. Velu's father, Chinnaiah Pillai, pays off a debt to the landowners' son, but he then lies that he did not receive the money. This leads to an argument between the two families and Velu decides to take revenge.
