Rodriguez au Pays des Merguez plot

Bab el Wadi, at the time when many French people still lived in Algeria. Roro, the son of the merchant Dodièze, is out of work. He is in love with the dashing Chipette, daughter of a hairdresser, Gongormatz. The village is preparing for the upcoming elections. Posters and banners are hung everywhere. There are two candidates, two clans. Dodièze and Roro support Fernand, one of the two rivals. Gongormatz is jealous and has an altercation with Dodièze that spirals out of control.
