The most annoying thing about this film is the dialogues. Much too exaggerated and fake. That's a shame, because the actors are not bad. The locations are beautiful. And the camera work looks good. A mediocre film unfortunately.

Too bland and too forced, this second-youth spectacle by and with and through Hunt. A bit too much of a good thing, and I don't think she has herself under control as a director. And someone should have told her that the make-up and visagie don't quite work either.

But they are beautiful locations, and I saw the film at almost the best time - a day when it's too hot to do anything, and you should have been on holiday at the beach. That makes a big difference. Still, two points is quite generous.

Although there are certainly some very funny parts in the film, I personally would not call it a comedy, but rather a comedy drama, with the emphasis on drama. Ride is a film about letting go and picking up your life again. I enjoyed the film, which by the way has some nice actors in supporting roles: Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites and David Zayas. But story-wise I still have some comments to make. There are supporting characters of whom I sometimes thought 'who are you and where do you come from?', and too often I lost track of what the film was about. The characters themselves were also a bit lost about who they were, so in that respect it fits in, but it was annoying and sometimes took me out of the film. But in the end I am glad I saw the film, because I certainly enjoyed it.
