"It's the Funniest Picture in Nine Lifetimes!"
Thaddeus J. Banner is a wealthy eccentric who adopts a feral male cat. He names the animal Rhubarb and becomes more and more attached to him. In fact, TJ Banner loves his hangover so much that after his death he bequeaths all his possessions, including an entire Brooklyn baseball club, to Rhubarb. The baseball team tries to resist this strange situation, but journalist Eric Yeager tries to convince them that Rhubarb can serve as a mascot.
