Restul E Tacere plot

In the years 1911 and 1912, the Romanian director Aristide Demetriade and the financial tycoon Leon Popescu made the two-hour film 'Independenta Romaniei'; a faithful portrayal of the War of Independence in 1877. This film loosely tells of the making of that film in a semi-fictionalized way, using footage from the original film. It starts with a young theater actor who realizes that in that capacity he will never have the desired success. He then decides to try it as a director to prove, with the help of a dubious target group, that film as an art form can compete with the theater.
