"Fortune can make a man do some pretty fowl things."
It's not going well for Dave Purcell. His marriage, he discovers, has reached a dead end and his restaurant, the Auk, is close to bankruptcy. When his wife runs off and creditors knock on his door, desperate Dave takes refuge in his wine cellar to drown his sorrows with fine wine before the bank can seize it. But there is still hope. Dave's eccentric neighbor Alphonse devises a dubious plan to help his buddy.
