Pour Vivre Heureux plot

The painter Mauclair is not very successful. He passes himself off as dead and sees his reputation grow. The moment he witnesses the dedication of his own statue, he believes he has become famous, but a little boy dirties the pedestal of the monument, reminding him that fame can be forgotten.
